Part 1:
Steve McCurry's photography inspires many other photographers and myself. His attention to detail in the composition and use of color creates captivating images. HIs images also tell stories and have meaningful messages behind them. McCurry's images have inspired me to be more deliberate with my composition in order to create messages for the viewers. I hope to create stories within my images rather than just an emotion, similar to McCurry.
Part 2:
Comment on another student's blog: Hi Flavia! Your multimodal presentation on Mary Ellen Mark was very well done. Similar to the project I did on Steve McCurry, it was eye opening to view and delve into photography that was taken to have higher meaning and messages sent to the viewers rather than just an aesthetically pleasing image to look at. Mary Ellen Mark's photography does just that. I enjoyed hearing your perspective on the meanings behind her images as well. I would also agree that her photography could be considered ethically evaluative. I also believe some of her images could be classified as interpretive.
